Chris Pickrell

Chris Pickrell, Naturopathic Doctor, Registered Herbalist

Focusing on total wellness and health promotion, I primarily use botanical medicine, Chinese medicine/acupuncture, and counselling to support a person as they move towards achieving true balance in all aspects of their lives. Addressing root cause, treatment often begins by optimizing digestion and absorption, while working to balance stress, sleep, and the fostering of a sustainable healthy lifestyle. My practice philosophy is one of supported independence: In any individual treatment plan, my goal is to help someone re-discover the tangible, practical, ways to regain balance in their lives with the minimum amount of intervention.

Emily Rotella, Naturopathic Doctor

I firmly believe it is crucial to understand the root cause of why you are not feeling your best in order to optimize your health. I will do this by actively listening to your unique health story with the aim towards understanding what your symptoms may be saying about your health and the underlying causes of imbalance. Together we will determine the best treatment options for you and your lifestyle. As a Naturopathic Doctor, I utilize comprehensive lab testing, nutritional guidance and supplementation, botanical medicines, acupuncture, bio-identical hormones and lifestyle modifications to help you take charge of your health.

I began my health education journey at the University of Toronto where I received an Honours Bachelor degree, double majoring in Health & Disease and Psychology. I furthered my education at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine where I received my Doctorate of Naturopathy.

After graduation, I successfully completed the Ontario Prescribing and Therapeutics examination which licensed me to perform Vitamin injections and prescribe bio-identical hormone therapy. I am a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND), the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), and the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO). For questions or further information please feel free to contact her at by email or to learn more check out her website. Yan Yen Loo, Naturopathic Doctor

I am a licensed naturopathic doctor, focused in the mental wellness of patients. This includes stress, anxiety and mood imbalances. I believe the mental and emotional state of an individual is a foundational pillar to health. My approach is to minimize your symptoms, while we work to tackle the underlying cause to prevent recurrence. This always involves practical lifestyle solutions. When extra support is required, I will use various treatment tools including herbal medicine, acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

I have a passion for teaching. Health education is empowering. It ultimately allows patients to take control of their own well-being. When working with patients, I always doctor as teacher. Outside of patient appointments, I co-lead the Eco-Health Walks at the Tommy Thompson Park, along with workshops at the Herbal Clinic and Dispensary. I am available for one-on-one naturopathic appointments. I also offer cosmetic acupuncture to complement my naturopathic services. Suki Hon, Naturopathic Doctor (she/her)

I believe everyone deserves a chance to become a healthier and better version of themselves. In taking into consideration the physical, mental, environmental, socioeconomic, cultural, and racial aspects, I strive to help BIPOC find sustainable healthcare solutions that work for them.

Malwina Biczysko, Certified Nutritional Practitioner (C.N.P.)

I believe in a holistic approach to healing that encompasses nutrition, connection to oneself, connecting to community and self-empowerment. I specialize in digestive wellness as this is foundational in having optimal health and the work that I do comes from a place of integrity and true understanding. Through clinical and personal life experiences I have learned to approach healing through an investigative approach, using both intuitive and scientific-based knowledge to get to the root cause of health issues. I am also deeply passionate about bringing awareness to the menstrual cycle and promoting health and empowerment to women on their healing journey. I work with women to heal their menstrual irregularities while teaching them to connect to their cycle and learn how to move through the phases of their month. My goals are to empower women to see the beautiful uniqueness and intricacies of their bodies, and with this restore their bodies back into a state of optimal health. I firmly believe that accessibility to whole foods, and education on natural healing is primal in empowering folks to take control of their health, therefore I prioritize educating clients on financially sustainable ways to lead a healthy life, with the support of herbal medicine and supplementation if required.

Malwina is a Certified Nutritional Practitioner C.N.P. who graduated from The Institute of Holistic Nutrition with honours in 2017. She has been running her private practice since 2018 specializing in digestive health, women’s health and menstrual cycle support. She believes that natural medicine and a healthy lifestyle should be accessible to all and trusts in the power of food as medicine to help heal the body back to balance.

Ashton Shearer, R.TCMP, R.ac

I’m an artist and medicine person, licensed acupuncturist, and herbalist practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine. I believe Chinese Medicine is a powerful holistic medical system that yields profound results, improving a multitude of conditions within the mind, body and spirit.

My medicine practice is community focused. I care deeply about providing affordable care so that anyone, regardless of their economic position, can overcome their health challenges. I’ve spent years working in the arts sector with marginalized communities and use the tools I’ve learned to help those navigating systemic barriers.

During treatment we address the manifesting symptoms as well as the root cause of the issue. We will focus on improving sleep, digestion and exercise, while also exploring other factors like environment, connection with the natural world, relationships, creativity—all of which are central to maintaining health goals in the longterm.

I offer acupuncture, herbal medicine, and cupping (Traditional Chinese Medicine) at affordable sliding-scale rates. I run a NADA AcuDetox acupuncture circle at Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre and at community events in the city. I’m also a co-organizer of The People’s Healing Fund, a collective that provides funds for BIPOC practitioners to better serve their communities.
